How do I descale my Beppy Steam+Sterilizer? After some time, limescale can form in the device because tap water contains calcium and magnesium minerals. Especially when boiling or heating tap water, limescale builds up. This is not dangerous to human health.
Step 1. Fill the Beppy Steam+Sterilizer with a mixture of water and lemon juice or vinegar so that all the lime is under the mixture.
Step 2. Turn on your Beppy Steam+Sterilizer and boil for 8 minutes. If necessary, repeat steps 1 and 2 again.
Step 3. When you see that the Beppy Steam+Sterilizer is limescale-free, rinse it out with clean water.
You are now done descaling your Beppy Steam+Sterilizer.
Step 1. Wash the cup
First wash your hands and rinse the menstrual cup well with cold water inside and out. Be sure to clean the hard-to-reach areas, such as the vents and the area under the inner flap. It is enough to rinse your cup with water or Non-Alcohol baby wipes. For deeper cleaning, you can also use a pH-neutral soap to clean your cup, such as Beppy Soapy. Apply it to the surface and massage well with lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary.
Step 2. Sterilize the cup
Sterilize your Beppy Cup before your first use, during your period and after your period ends. You should clean your Beppy Cup more thoroughly if you are not going to use it for a long time.
There are several methods for sterilizing the cup:
Sterilize the cup in a pot of boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Since the menstrual cup is made of silicone, make sure the cup does not touch the bottom to prevent burning.
Put the cup in a special microwave-safe container with water and let it boil for up to 3 minutes.
Use the Beppy Steam + Sterilizer. Add a little water to the device, turn the cup upside down, close the lid and press the button. In just 8 minutes, your cup will be free of germs and bacteria. Do not use detergent or soap in the Beppy Steam + Sterilizer, as this can cause an imbalance in the pH of the vagina and eventually cause odors.
