How do you remove a Beppy sponge tampon?

Just like a standard tampon, Beppy’s sponge tampon is basically fine if you don’t feel it. It is supposed to be placed deep inside the vagina, but if Beppy is a little lower, Beppy works fine too. As long as Beppy is placed past your pelvic floor muscle, so you can’t squeeze Beppy out.

How do you remove a Beppy?

After intercourse, Beppy sits slightly deeper than when you wear Beppy without intercourse. Right after making love, your vagina is still maximally stretched, so wait a while before removing Beppy. It is easiest to remove it while showering or bathing, then you are relaxed and your vagina is supple and moist. Optionally, you can lower (weigh down) Beppy a bit by wetting it with the shower, then Beppy is easy to grab. Relaxing is the most important thing.

There are different tampons, some are equipped with an insertion sleeve, others consist of ball-shaped cotton. Beppy is a special soft sponge. Beppy folds together between your index finger and thumb, making it easy to insert Beppy. Always read and keep the instructions for use carefully.

Whether you can easily insert/remove a Beppy varies from person to person. A number of factors are important here. How deep is your uterus, is it perhaps slightly tilted? How long are your fingers or how deep is your Fornix. The fornix uteri, fornix vaginae, fornix vaginalis or camaroma is the area at the tip of the vagina around the cervix.

But always remember: a menstrual sponge can never disappear into your body. Your vagina is designed in such a way that this is impossible. No tampon fits through the tiny hole in your cervix. It may happen that the tampon slips a little further than necessary, for example, if you accidentally inserted a second tampon or had sex. Even then, you get the tampon out again.

TIPS:

  1. Relax! The most important thing you can do when you can’t find the menstrual sponge is to relax. Remember that the tampon can never get lost in your body. You may even have a harder time getting the tampon removed because you are tense.
  2. Take a nice bath or shower. This will help you relax!
  3. Wait a while before removing the tampon after sex. During sex, your vagina expands a bit due to arousal and stretches to make room for a penis, for example. This can cause the sponge tampon to be deeper than waiting a while for your vagina to pull back to its former state. Relax for half an hour and remove the tampon.
  4. Squat! Get on your squat in a squatting position and press gently. The tampon will then be easier to remove.
  5. Have you tried all of the above and still can’t manage to remove the tampon? Then visit your doctor. Your doctor can then remove the tampon.
